Linyi, China — Staff from publicity and armed forces departments in Changlu Town, Mengyin county launched a national‑defense education outreach event at a local rural market on Sep 14, bringing defense‑related knowledge directly to residents.
Volunteers distributed brochures and gave face‑to‑face explanations covering national defense laws, national security and military‑civilian support policies. Special attention was paid to interpreting conscription requirements, application procedures, tuition compensation and preferential resettlement policies for young people eligible for military service and their families. Real‑life cases were shared to highlight the significance of national defense.

More than 200 informational handouts were given out, with over 30 public inquiries answered. The activity helped raise local residents’awareness of national defense and fostered a social atmosphere that respects and supports military service. Local authorities plan to hold regular national‑defense education sessions in villages, schools and enterprises via popular, community‑friendly formats to consolidate public awareness of national security.
