Linyi International Airport in East China's Shandong province handled 390 flights and 54,000 passenger trips from Oct 1 to 7 during the National Day holiday, completing its holiday transport mission. Oct 6 was the busiest day, with more than 9,401 passengers passing through.

Passenger flows combined family visits and tourism, rising steadily in the early part of the holiday and concentrating on return trips afterward. Popular routes centered on Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Chengdu, with family travel and trips home for the holiday dominating. Flight punctuality remained high and operations were stable.

To handle the holiday surge, the airport drew up a dedicated support plan in advance, coordinated with airlines to optimize scheduling and added flights on popular routes. Before the holiday, it conducted safety inspections of runways, navigation lights and firefighting facilities, and improved contingency plans for strong winds, rain and large-scale flight delays.

Guided by the "Fly Shandong with Ease" service brand, the airport dynamically opened more check-in counters and security channels, assigned more service staff to guide passengers on site and activated a green channel for late arrivals to shorten queuing times. For elderly travelers, first-time flyers, unaccompanied children and passengers with limited mobility, it offered one-on-one guidance, assistance and priority boarding. More information points were set up in the terminal to answer inquiries and broadcast flight updates.

The airport also worked with public security, airlines and ground transport departments to manage peak flows and optimize transfer guidance, ensuring passengers could move in and out quickly.

The airport said it will continue to develop the "Fly Shandong with Ease" service brand, optimize its route network and improve safety and service quality.
