Guichang township in Tancheng county, Linyi, East China's Shandong province, organized storytelling sessions themed on passing on the Yimeng Spirit at its new era civilization practice center on Oct 20, with speakers visiting villages across the township.
Speakers covered the origin, core meaning and evolution of the Yimeng Spirit, and retold stories from the Menglianggu campaign and the Yimeng Red Sisterhood — women who supported revolutionary troops in the 1930s and 1940s — to explain how soldiers and civilians worked together during the war years.

The township said it will continue the program using rural storytelling courtyards, storytelling corridors and family-based civilization practice stations, aiming to extend the sessions to more residents.
The Yimeng Spirit, named after the Yimeng Mountain area, refers to the region's tradition of hard work, self-improvement, selflessness and dedication, and is promoted across Linyi as a civic value.
