A matchmaking event dubbed the 2026 "Overseas Chinese Assisting Thousands of Enterprises and Products to Go Global" was launched in Linyi on April 20 as a highlight of the 5th RCEP (Shandong) Import Expo. This initiative aims to leverage the city's extensive overseas Chinese network to build a precise bridge between domestic manufacturers and international consumers.
Linyi has rapidly expanded its global footprint in recent times, establishing 70 overseas malls and warehouses alongside its first batch of foreign trade service stations in countries like South Korea and Vietnam. The city is now home to 18,000 foreign trade enterprises and 4,100 cross-border e-commerce entities, attracting a number of Fortune Global 500 companies to settle locally.
As a prominent hometown of overseas Chinese, Linyi is utilizing the influence of its 18,000 overseas citizens to serve as "navigators" for local brands entering the global stage and as "ferrymen" for bringing premium foreign resources back to China.
To further boost the internationalization of its services, Linyi has streamlined its trade infrastructure. A newly established international trade service hall now processes foreign trade procedures within three hours, while 45 procurement centers provide comprehensive support for global buyers.
Furthermore, a collaborative RCEP visa mechanism offers up to 100 percent tariff reductions, complemented by travel subsidies and simplified market procurement policies. By fostering a welcoming environment through international clubs and lounges, Linyi is ensuring that global merchants can operate with unprecedented ease and confidence, solidifying its position as a hub for high-level opening-up.
