Shandong Equestrian Prelims Successfully Concluded in Tancheng

On May 12, the five-day equestrian preliminaries of the 26th Shandong Provincial Games came to a successful conclusion at Fenghe Equestrian Club in Tancheng.

The event gathered 11 teams from 11 cities across Shandong Province, featuring 223 horse‑rider pairs composed of 139 athletes and 214 horses. Three disciplines including dressage, show jumping and eventing were contested in group a, b and c categories, with dozens of athletes qualifying for the subsequent finals.

Drawing spectators including parents and tourists from Jinan, Qingdao, Weihai and tens of thousands of local residents, the games boosted regional footfall. Leveraging the provincial sports gala, Tancheng empowers rural tourism through sports events, deepens the integration of sports, culture and tourism, and fuels high‑quality development of local cultural and tourism industries.
