Linyi hosts major conference to boost service sector

On July 20, Linyi held a conference on the high-quality development of its service industry to chart a new course for regional economic growth. Zhang Baoliang, Party secretary of Linyi, emphasized that the service industry forms the backbone of the national economy and is crucial to modernization.

Highlighting Linyi's unique scale, potential, and vibrant market, Zhang called for treating the service sector with the same rigor as industry to build an efficient, premium service framework and establish Linyi as a leading regional hub in southern Shandong and northern Jiangsu.

To achieve this, Zhang outlined strategic priorities for expanding producer services, urging breakthroughs in tech services, modern logistics, information technology, financial support, and specialized business operations to empower overall industrial upgrading. He also stressed the need to optimize consumer services by enhancing basic retail and catering, improving essential public provisions like eldercare and education, and expanding upscale offerings in tourism, housing, and home decoration to better meet people's growing aspirations for a higher quality of life.
