Women's Group A football finals kick off in Tancheng for 26th Shandong Provincial Games

The Women's Group A football finals of the 26th Shandong Provincial Games kicked off in Tancheng county, Linyi, on August 15, with the host city Linyi taking on Jinan in the opening match.

The tournament runs from August 15 to 22, spanning eight days of competition. A total of 230 athletes from 10 cities across Shandong province have gathered in Tancheng to compete for the top honor in the Women's Group A football event.

As one of the events scheduled ahead of the official opening, the start of the Women's Group A football competition signals that various events of the 26th Provincial Games are already underway. Tancheng county has made thorough preparations in venue facilities, event organization, and logistical support to provide a favorable competition environment for all participating teams.

The 26th Shandong Provincial Games will officially open in Linyi on August 26, featuring 38 sports with 13,000 registered athletes. Football, as a popular traditional sport, has consistently been one of the most-watched events at the Provincial Games.
