Linyi secures third place in provincial SME recognition

When the Department of Industry and Information Technology of Shandong Province released its 2026 accreditation list for specialized and sophisticated small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), Linyi secured the province's third spot with 133 newly certified firms — a result that has drawn widespread attention.

Rather than leaving SMEs to navigate their innovation journeys alone, Linyi has woven them into the value networks of leading industries. In the wood industry, flagship enterprises have opened up application scenarios, enabling 37 supporting firms to jointly tackle environmentally friendly adhesive technologies.

In the machinery and equipment sector, dedicated collaboration with universities has helped break through precision manufacturing bottlenecks in hydraulic systems. This mutually reinforcing model — big players driving small ones, and small ones feeding back into the ecosystem — has turned isolated efforts into coordinated progress.

The push for digital transformation has been equally pragmatic.

At the wood industry park in Tanyi town, Feixian county, a shared industrial internet platform now serves more than 300 SMEs, offering digital design and supply chain coordination services at 60 percent lower upgrade costs.

Such collective moves have addressed the common reluctance and know-how gaps that often stall digital adoption among smaller firms.

Beyond domestic upgrades, Linyi has taken its SMEs global with a purpose. Instead of mere product showcases at overseas exhibitions in Japan and Germany, local companies pursue targeted technology partnerships.

Backed by a full-life-cycle service system — from tiered cultivation pools to precision diagnostics, technical breakthroughs to capital market matchmaking — Linyi is offering a compelling template for regional industrial transformation.
