Yimeng spirit shines through everyday role models

The Yimeng spirit is gaining fresh expression in Linyi through ordinary workers whose daily dedication reflects the city's Red culture in the new era.

At an advanced deeds report meeting organized by Linyi's publicity authorities, six role models from different fields shared their stories of service, responsibility and perseverance. Their experiences show how the spirit once associated with wartime support and sacrifice continues to live on in today's workplaces and communities.

Among them, bus driver Song Chunyu has worked ferrying people around and taking care of commuters for 26 years, recording one million kilometers with no accidents or complaints.

Han Zhen, head of a volunteer rescue team, has spent years on unpaid emergency missions. Zhang Fang, a grassroots Party branch secretary, has focused on rural development and increasing local incomes.

The report also highlighted Xian Youtao, who grew from a loading worker into a leader in cross-border logistics; Song Qinggang, a special police officer who has served on the front line of security and rescue work for 13 years; and the Linyi 12345 government service hotline, which responds to public concerns around the clock.

Their stories underline a shared message: the Yimeng spirit is not confined to history. It is renewed through public service, community care and practical work, adding strength to Linyi's pursuit of high-quality development.
