Zhang Baoliang, Secretary of the Linyi Municipal Party Committee, inspected preparations for the 26th Shandong Provincial Games at the Linyi Olympic Sports Park Stadium on the afternoon of August 15, addressing practical issues on site. Bian Feng, Chairman of the Linyi Municipal Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, joined the inspection.
At the stadium — the venue for the opening ceremony and several key competitions — Zhang reviewed the progress of event organization, cultural performances, service support, and atmosphere building. He urged performing teams to refine every detail and conduct thorough full-process rehearsals to ensure a spectacular and successful opening ceremony.
Zhang later chaired a symposium, emphasizing that hosting the Provincial Games is an important task entrusted to Linyi by the provincial Party committee and government. It represents both a vote of confidence and a test of Linyi's capabilities, as well as a major opportunity to showcase the city's image, boost development, and improve people's livelihoods. With preparations entering a critical sprint phase, all departments must be fully committed and pay meticulous attention to every detail.
Zhang outlined key priorities: ensuring high-standard venue operations and event organization; delivering a brilliant opening ceremony that fully showcases Linyi's charm; strengthening comprehensive support for venues, competitions, accommodation, transportation, and security; and enhancing publicity to share compelling stories of the Games and the Yimeng region. He called for close coordination across all departments, strict discipline, and rigorous supervision to deliver a streamlined, safe, and outstanding Provincial Games.
The 26th Shandong Provincial Games will open in Linyi on August 26, featuring 38 sports with 13,000 registered athletes.
Linyi municipal leaders Xue Feng, Zhang Xiaobin, Xie Hongri, Wang Yinghai, and Jing Tao participated in the inspection.
