BRI markets boost Linyi's two-way trade

"Chinese pre-packaged food is well received in Guinea and enjoys strong demand," said Jiang Wei, business manager of Linyi Wanhang International Trade Co Ltd. "We export multiple batches monthly."

This year, Linyi has expanded its trade network to 224 countries and regions. Among its top 10 trading partners, eight are participating in the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), demonstrating strong momentum in economic and trade cooperation.

During the first seven months of 2026, Linyi's trade with BRI countries reached 82.43 billion yuan ($12.26 billion), a year-on-year increase of 7.1 percent, raising its share of the city's total foreign trade to 77 percent. Trade with emerging markets showed strong growth, with trade with Nigeria surging 45.7 percent to 3.07 billion yuan.

The trade structure has also been optimized. Imports of bulk commodities from BRI countries grew by 9.3 percent, accounting for over half of total imports. Meanwhile, exports of garments, engineering machinery, toys, rubber tires, and plywood grew by 4.6 percent, 46.9 percent, 60.1 percent, 7.3 percent, and 6.7 percent, respectively.

Linyi Customs has continuously introduced measures to boost efficiency, including the "inspect before loading" model for market procurement, integration with China-Europe freight trains and TIR assembly centers, and AEO (Authorized Economic Operator) mutual recognition benefits, providing targeted support for enterprises seeking to expand into BRI markets.
