Linyi Trade City upgrades services for global buyers

2026-09-09

The recent opening of the Holiday Inn Linyi Lanshan, part of the InterContinental Hotels Group, marks the second international brand hotel to land in the Linyi Trade City area within a year. Following the Hilton Garden Inn, which has operated for nearly a year, these hotels signal a major shift for China's logistics capital.

With 136 specialized wholesale markets and over 60,000 shops, Linyi Trade City is the country's largest professional market cluster. As it pursues its 2026 "mall internationalization" strategy, the influx of international buyers is reshaping demand for urban services. In the first half of the year, Linyi Trade City attracted 32,000 visitors from over 70 countries, a 52 percent year-on-year rise.

The international hotels are enhancing their service quality with localized touches. The Hilton Garden Inn offers local delicacies like Linyi stir-fried chicken at breakfast, while other hotels are expanding their Halal dining and foreign language services. Over 20 percent of guests at the Hilton are from overseas, with many hailing from the Middle East and Southeast Asia.

Beyond hospitality, Linyi has launched its international product selection center, expanded market procurement pilot policies, and established a one-stop foreign affairs service hall handling 119 administrative items from 15 departments. These efforts are accelerating the city's evolution into a comprehensive business destination.
