Calligrapher Sage Festival Opening Ceremony returns to Wang Xizhi Former Residence after 15‑year gap

The opening ceremony of the 22nd Calligrapher Sage Culture Festival of Linyi will be hosted at Wang Xizhi Former Residence. It marks the home‑coming of the grand cultural event after a 15‑year absence, bringing the major festival back to the birthplace of Wang Xizhi, the Sage of Calligraphy.

Wang Xizhi Former Residence stands as the core cultural landmark of the Hometown of Calligrapher Sage Wang Xizhi. The 9th Calligrapher Sage Culture Festival once held its opening ceremony here back in 2011. Fifteen years later, the festival returns to this historic site, allowing guests and tourists to experience calligraphy heritage beside the Washing‑Ink Pond and Sun‑Book Terrace.

The opening‑day arrangement includes ancient‑style ritual performances, special‑feature documentary screening, guest addresses, joint cultural‑city initiative release and launching of tourist‑exchange activities. The event strives to make calligraphy culture accessible to the public, turning abstract calligraphy heritage into immersive, touchable cultural experience for visitors and local residents.
