Linyi's immersive tourism shines during National Day holiday

2026-10-12

During the just-concluded National Day holiday, Linyi boosted its cultural tourism market by focusing on immersive cultural activities, backed by substantial consumer benefits and supported by warm, visitor-friendly services.

The city introduced a "ticket stub economy", allowing concertgoers to enjoy free, half-price, or discounted entry at 34 scenic spots, 13 hotels, and 20 nearby businesses.

Linyi also partnered with Tongcheng Travel to distribute consumption vouchers, offering 20 percent off tickets and up to 100 yuan ($14.90) in discounts. Some scenic areas waived admission for residents of Shandong and Jiangsu provinces, as well as for teenagers and college students.

Immersive experiences took center stage, transforming visitors from spectators into participants. At a red-culture themed scenic area in Linyi, tourists joined interactive revolutionary performances, while Tianmeng Mountain hosted live shows and red song sing-alongs at its summit. Night tourism also thrived, with boat tours and drone light shows causing visitors to extend their stays.

Linyi followed suit with a diverse array of night tourism offerings.

The Yehua Langya boat tour offers an immersive "sailing through a painting" experience, while the Denghuo Lanshan tourist area hosts 13 live performances including drone light shows. A scenic area in Feixian county has made night tours a core attraction, pairing daytime shows with evening city tours.

From immersive performances to visitor-friendly policies, Linyi enhanced its tourism brand, achieving both acclaim and popularity this holiday season.
