Cross-border e-commerce opens new global markets for local merchants in Linyi, enabling manufacturers to sell goods directly to overseas buyers without offline intermediaries.

Hu Fangjun, a local panel industry operator, shifted from traditional wholesale to cross-border online sales in 2024. After thorough research on European and American market demand, he built an operational model featuring online order receiving, local stock preparation and customized production. His business links over 80 percent of Linyi's panel factories, creating win-win growth for both merchants and manufacturers.

Due to time differences with Western markets, Hu's team works late every night to communicate with overseas buyers. Their annual cross-border sales of wood panels hit 20 million yuan in 2025. In April 2026, the enterprise moved into Linyi Trade City Cross-border E-commerce Park, expanding its office space from 118 square meters to 432 square meters with standardized exhibition halls for customized panel displays. The company targets 50 million yuan in cross-border turnover for 2026.

Linyi was approved as a national comprehensive cross-border e-commerce pilot zone in 2020. Linyi Trade City has built a complete industrial chain covering supply chains, logistics warehouses and full-cycle enterprise incubation support. The park provides free training, policy consultation and matching services for small and medium-sized cross-border startups.

Supported by global logistics routes and mature manufacturing clusters, more Linyi local firms are expanding overseas via digital channels. Cross-border e-commerce has become a major driving force for the city's foreign trade and high-quality service sector development.
