City volunteer service fully launched for the 26th Shandong Prouince Sports Game

City volunteer services for the 26th Shandong Prouince Sports Games have been fully rolled out across Linyi, with 800 well-trained volunteers taking up posts starting August 1. Coordinated by the Social Work Department of the CPC Linyi Municipal Committee, the volunteer network covers stadiums, transport hubs, shopping malls, scenic spots and urban communities.

A 15-minute volunteer service circle has taken shape, consisting of 61 standardized service stations divided into three tiers: core competition zone stations, radiation zone hubs and community extension stations. Twenty core stations near the Olympic Sports Center provide event consultation and audience guidance; 29 radiation stations at transport hubs and scenic spots integrate tourism promotion and emergency assistance; 12 community stations deliver daily neighborhood volunteer services.

Over 2,200 citizens signed up for volunteer recruitment, and 800 outstanding volunteers were selected after qualification review and political screening, including students, retirees and institutional staff. A three-dimensional training system including special station management courses, general etiquette lectures and on-site post training was implemented to improve service capacity.

Linyi innovates a "volunteer service plus" model with themed stations for seniors, teenagers, trade unions and urban management teams, combining professional industry strengths with public volunteer work. A full guarantee system provides unified uniforms, accident insurance, drinking water and heatstroke prevention supplies, with a dedicated volunteer lounge at the Olympic Sports Center for rest. Service hours are recorded digitally on the "Volunteer Shandong" platform with formal certificates and merit recognition for outstanding volunteers.

A four-level coordination mechanism of municipal overall planning, departmental liaison, county implementation and station operation unites 10 municipal departments and social organizations to standardize recruitment, training, on-duty and emergency procedures. Volunteers will stay on duty until September 30 to welcome visitors from all over Shandong. Linyi will summarize replicable standardized volunteer mechanisms after the games to sustain urban civilized vitality long-term.
