A national symposium on peach industry technology was held in Pingyi county, Linyi, East China's Shandong province, from Oct 23 to 25, seeking to empower the high-quality development of the city's fruit and vegetable processing industry.
Ke Cao, chief scientist of the China Peach Industry Technology System, joined 20 other experts and technical backbones at the event, holding face-to-face consultations with more than 150 growers and business representatives from across the city. The experts offered targeted advice on variety improvement, green pest control, deep processing and brand expansion, bringing cutting-edge agricultural technology to the fields.
The symposium was organized by the city's green fruit and vegetable processing industry chain task force, which has been building a "1+3+N" sci-tech innovation system this year, relying on a municipal industrial technology research institute, three host counties of Pingyi, Lanling and Yinan, and county-level research centers jointly established with the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences.
The experts also visited peach planting bases in Wutai town and key processing enterprises such as Yuquan Food and Huihuang Food in Difang town, diagnosing industry bottlenecks and tailoring technology upgrade plans for the companies.
