Rapid growth of wind and photovoltaic power brings volatility and peak-shaving pressure to Linyi’s power grid, creating demand for large-scale energy storage facilities. The Dongyang Huazhen centralized energy storage station Phase I connected to the grid, pushing the city's independent energy storage installed capacity past 1 million kW.
The Phase I 180MW/360MWh lithium iron phosphate system adopts self-developed liquid cooling integrated equipment, saving 30% land occupation and improving operational safety. The station absorbs surplus green power at noon and releases electricity during evening peak hours, delivering 150 million kWh of charge-discharge volume annually. Linyi forms a diversified "source-grid-load-storage" layout including pumped storage, independent batteries and virtual power plants with 93.3 MW adjustable aggregated capacity.
Large-scale energy storage construction stabilizes new power system operation. Linyi will expand the whole-chain energy storage layout to guarantee power supply during summer peak demand.
