Shimeng town reshapes rural customs through customs reform in Linshu

Shimeng Town of Linshu County advances customs reform to cut extravagant wedding and funeral expenses and foster civilized rural customs. All 24 villages revise village regulations to set limits on betrothal gifts and banquet scales, with standardized village wedding and funeral councils.

Local villages stage folk operas and hold festivals to publicize thrifty concepts. "Shimeng Good Person" selection and Party member demonstration activities guide villagers to abandon bad customs. A virtue point exchange system encourages voluntary neighborhood services and civilized behaviors.
